A licensed clinical psychologist, researcher, and founder whose career has been built at the intersection of technology and mental health.
I founded OpenWorld Psychology, a multi-state group practice and consulting firm, where I lead research, clinical innovation, and advisory services for organizations building mental health technology. I previously served as Assistant Professor and MS Program Director at Palo Alto University, where I directed the SING Lab (Studies on Innovation, Gaming, and Neurodivergence) and modernized the graduate curriculum to include a UXR track.
My research in internet gaming disorder, psychometrics, and digital interventions has been cited over 1,700 times. I've published 20+ peer-reviewed articles, contributed to two forthcoming book chapters on game-based mental health interventions, and presented at over 30 conferences internationally. I formerly served as Director of Science and Ethics for Therapists in Tech and am a member of the AI Mental Health Collective.
More recently, I've been working hands-on with AI systems, doing clinical roleplay and red team evaluation to ensure these tools are safe and clinically sound. My clinical training spans Kaiser Permanente, UT Health, and UCSF, grounding everything I do in real-world practice. If you're building something in this space, I'd welcome the conversation.
